How fitting that the top American made engineering and construction toys are made in the keystone state of Pennsylvania. During my time at the tavern on Walnut Street with Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, and Madison we would frequently tinker with our drinking vessels, but never hath we had such an epiphany as Joel Glickman nearly a score ago while playing with straws at a union of a lady and a gentleman. It was in his boredom at this union ceremony that Glickman thought up the idea of connecting two straws, and K'NEX was born. American construction and construction tools have broken new ground in innovation not seen since the fall of the Roman Empire. Thanks to the folks over at K'NEX this innovation continues, in the hands of imaginative youths and those of us who think we are still youngins' alike. Thanks to The Rodon Group, K'NEX manufactures all of its bricks, rods and connectors in the United States, with the highest of plastic quality and none of the harmful side affects that arise from foreign made toys. Located just two miles from K'NEX in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, The Rodon Group was established in 1956, and is owned and operated by the Glickman family. The Rodon Group is a state-of-the-art, custom injection molder of high precision plastic components with ISO Certification. ISO is an international standard that certifies a manufacturer has processes in place to ensure quality products. The facility has 106 high precision injection molding machines at its 125,000 square foot plant.
